Martijn Hagens (1971) has been Chairman of the Board of Management of Eneco since March 1, 2026, in which capacity he also serves as Chief Executive Officer. With more than twenty years of experience in the energy sector, he brings in-depth expertise in customer operations, district heating networks, energy markets, and large-scale organizational transformation.
Martijn began his career as a consultant at Accenture. In 2003, he joined Nuon as Head of Customer Care, where he subsequently held several other leadership roles. In 2011, he moved to Vattenfall as Head of Customer Service, where he held various international management positions. His most recent role within the Vattenfall Group was Senior Vice President and Head of the Business Area Markets.
With his broad international experience, his focus on sustainable growth, and his drive to accelerate the energy transition, Martijn brings a forward-looking vision to Eneco.
Martijn Hagens studied Industrial Engineering & Management Science at Eindhoven University of Technology.
